biographical info
Kid Metropolis has been passionately creating music together for one year. They have performed at many well known venues around the Greater Toronto area, most notably Club 279, the Reverb, and the Opera House. Comprised of four artists from an array of diverse musical backgrounds, Kid Metropolis brings an unconventional yet, finely honed approach to songwriting and performance.
"Not just another nonsensical supernova." Kid Metropolis focuses exclusively on the intensity and emotional power behind their music and more specifically, their songwriting. These qualities, combined with the band’s fondness of vintage sounds and unique live performances are attributes that give them the reputation of a prominent, up and coming musical faction. In December 2004, Kid Metropolis issued a limited promo CD. The five song EP was recorded and produced by Ashton Price of Morph Productions who has worked with acts such as Juno™ Nominee Kazzer and Vile Richard. Currently, the band is working towards completing a full-length album with a tentative release date set for late 2005. The album will consist of new, unreleased material as well as re-recordings of their previous work.
The name symbolizes the urban roots of the band. It is a vivid display of their fascination with global transformation and the sense of optimism that comes along with modernization. When it comes to songwriting the result is like “a spectrum of light ignited by a series of energetic atoms".
