artist Justine Bennett



Born with music in her blood and raised amongst artists in the Valhalla Mountains of British Columbia, Justine Bennett began earning her singer/songwriter pedigree as a teenager, busking on the streets of San Francisco.  

With alto vocals evocative of folk songbirds Joni Mitchell and Natalie Merchant, Justine’s vintage sweetness offsets the timely edge of her songwriting. She's released two records via her music label Authentik Artists, and with several cross-country tours to her credit, has become well known as an artist on the rise.

2009 brought Canadian born Justine to Los Angeles, where her guitar and voice opened the door to performances at such legendary venues as The Fillmore, The Troubadour, and the Hotel Café. She has made a name for herself as a busy stage and studio session vocalist, and has enjoyed a number of venue residencies.  

Her sophomore album Heavy Feeling, produced by LA-based Chris Seefried (Fitz & The Tantrums, Rosanne Cash) has garnered acclaim for its haunting melodies and a lyrical gravitas that would seem beyond her years.

 Justine recently starred in the critically acclaimed stage show Lonesome Traveler. The show, based on the history of folk music, will return to the Laguna Playhouse January 2012 and travels to Winnipeg, Manitoba in January 2013.
