 Only the strongest survive is an adage that not only applies to nature, but to artists grinding in the music industry. Jus Randyis on a fierce path to prove that he’s among the few who are not only strong enough to survive in the face of adversity, but can achieve success in an industry that’s known for swallowing the weak.

      After carving a name for himself as one of the original members of the Juno-nominated hip hop group, Brass Munk, Jus Randy is making his mark as a solo artist. 7 years after leaving the group, he’s changed his name (originally known as May One 9) and is hungry to embark on a journey, filled with several firsts.

      To show that he’s not about to take any shorts, Randy garnered attention by doing a double single release, virtually unheard of in today’s world of easy online access and quick consumption. Refusing to keep his artistry within the box of a single category, Jus Randy manages to have versatility that many artists envy. The two singles beautifully demonstrated Randy’s ability to showcase different sides of his personality. “Gud Mawning” featuring the vocal styling of Ray Robinson, is a message to stay positive in the face of hardship. Meanwhile, on “This Is War”, Jus Randy meant just that, by delivering a fierce lyrical attack on the wack and the weak, taking no prisoners and aiming for the jugular.

      Now in the booth putting the final touches on his upcoming EP, InfoBahn, Jus Randy is already making people sit up and pay attention. The EP represents the basic foundation of hip hop while containing the intelligent, lyrical content that allows listeners to be a part of his journey. As he prepares for the video release of these singles, Randy reflects: “I have so many experiences from life, so many stories to tell, so much more living to do that it has translated into my musical growth.”

Although there’s no blueprint for the road to success, the only certainty is that this unique journey for Jus Randy is only beginning…
