For her fourth album, Juno and Polaris nominated singer-songwriter Jenn Grant, gets us lost in The Beautiful Wild.
Recognized by the East Coast Music Association as Pop Recording of the Year, The Beautiful Wild is a departure from the giddy blush of 2011’s Honeymoon Punch. With an intuitive ability to express emotion that has helped to define her, Grant’s prismatic, iridescent voice sparkles over adventurous layers of harp, sitar and flute. Producer Daniel Ledwell worked alongside Grant and captured performances from Rose Cousins, Old Man Leudecke, and 41 members of The Halifax Boys Honour Choir. The album was released on Six Shooter Records in Canada and BaDaBing! Records in the US.
Since the release of The Beautiful Wild, Grant has formed the side project AquaAlta. A recording project and collaboration with Charles Austin (Superfriendz) and Graeme Campbell, known for their co-production on several Buck 65 albums.
A graduate of NSCAD, Grant studied painting which has resulted in a number of her album covers. Having toured across North America, Europe, Japan and Australia, Grant lives in Nova Scotia where she continues to paint and write her fifth album.
