biographical info
Jay Kaufman is a DJ and producer based near Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In October 2001 he released 'The Fear' on UK-based Sonambulist Recordings that spent 6 weeks in the Balance Promote Group chart (4 of those in the top 35!) and several 'Cool Cuts' charts like the Confi-dance Record Shop chart (UK). The Fear was strongly received by the who's who of the DJ industry; having plays from people like Hernan Cattaneo, Anthony Pappa, Ian Ossia, Danny Howells, James Holden, Ashley Casselle, Parks and Wilson, KISS FM play from Graham Gold and Andy Morris, ID&T radio play from Armin Van Buuren in Holland, Nick Warren, James Zabiela and many more. The track was also short listed for the Slinky 'World Class' mix CD that came out in January 2002 - one of only two tracks not to make the compilation. Recently Jay has licensed a remix of Daniel Gregory – Deep Cover he did with Electrofly artist Street degree to the Slinky Trans:Atlantic CD compilation. Sadly, the track was credited as being one of Jay’s tracks ‘Brocken Specter’, but Jay is behind some the production anyway. ‘Deep Cover’ also happens to be the first release on Tortoise Shell Recordings. This is just another notch in Jay's production career that spans some 10 years and his DJing career for over more than 14 years.
