Jay Harris and the Transceivers - Sundumb
The 10 songs on Sundumb careen head-long into the suburban landscapes of the 1970's, the same neighbourhoods once inhabited by Elvis Costello and Tom Petty, and like both of these artists also, Jay too is mapping new lands on the edge of town. The songs score the tragedy that underlie the modern human condition, channelling the stories we though, and sometimes wished, we'd lost.
Sundumb was recorded at Bathouse Studio. The band features Bazil Donovan and Bob Packwood of Blue Rodeo - Bass and Piano respectively, Cam Giroux (By Divine Right, Weeping Tile and the Violet Archers) - Drums, and Rob Gillet - Guitar; as well as contributing artists Paul Langlois, Oh Susanna and Bryden Baird.
In attempts to foster greater brand recognition Jay has played shows with artists including: Mick Taylor, Dan Bern, Luke Doucet, Oh Susanna, Sarah Harmer, Joel Plaskett, Jim Bryson, Justin Rutledge, The Wailing Jenny's, Kathleen Edwards, and the Doobie Brothers.
