biographical info
The project first materialized in 1995 as a collaboration between Tony Mittermaier, Vaughn Marshall and Andrew Green. What began as thirty seconds of music and three friends huddled around a single keyboard has grown to become their self titled, debut album.
Since then, Andy, Vaughn and Tony have met regularly in a succession of small rooms dominated by large speakers. And while the volume may have increased since 1995, the room still seems to be shrinking as the list of equipment and contributors continues to grow.
Jupiter Gravity’s debut album plunges into the abyss of unfamiliarity: equal parts musically rich and sonically bizarre. While there is a unified theme to the album, each song is remarkably different, merging and modifying elements from such diverse sources as jazz, dub, rock and all forms of electronic music. The combined efforts of all involved create the mosaic of atypical sounds and bewildering beats that is unique to Jupiter Gravity.
