John Borra Band features the songs of John Borra and the talents of Cleave Anderson (Blue Rodeo, Battered Wives) on drums, Steve Koch (Viletones, Demics, Handsome Neds) on lead guitar, Colleen Hodgson (Andy White) on bass and harmony vocals and John Borra (A Neon Rome, Change Of Heart, Groovy Religion) on lead vocals and acoustic guitar.
Formed in 1997 shortly after the release of John Borra’s self-titled cassette the J.B. Band has recorded two albums together, 1999’s “Band” and 2002’s “One Night At Seven In The Morning”. The new album features a guest appearance by punk rock legend Sam Ferrara who plays the musical saw on the last tune and who also fashioned the pinman sculpture that is featured on the front cover.
The J.B. Band plays regularly in the Toronto area and plan to spread their wings and music to the far ends of the earth. They have had the pleasure of opening up for Neko Case, Richard Buckner, The Old 97’s, The Bottle Rockets and Alejandro Escovedo.
