biographical info

Jay Dunphy resides in Victoria, B.C. where he has managed to collect a steady, sturdy following. He has released two independent albums with his supporting band, The Religion. The Religion has been somewhat of a revolving door since it's beginnings in early 2003 with Jay at the helm writing the material and doing the promotion, production and general leg-work. The latest release," If winning is inevitable....what's the point in playing?" is definitely the best and probably most accessible batch of songs Jay has recorded. Engineered by Mike Hall (David Chenery and The Lonesome Valley Singers, Chelsea Wakelyn, Ryan Beattie etc.), the album demonstrates his innate knack to craft a contagious hook into a simple structured song and still maintain powerful lyrical integrity. Dunphy is currently planning his third Canadian tour for April 2006.
