biographical info
As a native ‘Bluenoser’, Jamie’s story is as spirited as his music. Jamie discovered his artistry at the tender age of nine and immediately began writing and performing his own material. At the age of seventeen, while his passion for music was strong, he chose an unlikely but more anchored career. He joined the Navy and moved to the West Coast. In his two and a half year tour of duty he saw most ports from Alaska to Mexico, all the while honing his musical skills. By 1980, James had sailed into the Vancouver music scene with relative ease and soon had formed the bands “Bob’s Your Uncle” and “The Wingnuts”. After fourteen years, the bands had run their natural course and members went in different directions. Jamie was also busy working on his own solo material. In 1998, Jamie completed his proverbial full circle when he returned home to the East Coast. Back home in Nova Scotia, James has been in demand for live performances and has been busy recording, teaching, and of course, playing.
