Isobelle Gunn is an acoustic trio formed in South-western Ontario, comprised of Jeremy and Leanna Zeyl (brother/sister) and Lara Schat.
Jeremy, a 25 year old singer-songwriter, has been entertaining audiences with original music for over 12 years. With two full-length albums under his belt, Jeremy has performed all over South-western Ontario and the US. He studied music at Redeemer University College and is a member of the Songwriters Association of Canada.
After a two year writing sabbatical, and some much needed time at home in London ON, Jeremy has joined with two female voices to form Isobelle Gunn.
Leanna Zeyl has been singing with Jeremy since a young age and has contributed harmony arrangements for most of his compositions. Lara Schat has also been active in music-performance for many years, with one solo album to her credit.
In August 2006, Isobelle Gunn signed a production deal with producer Douglas Romanow, owner of Fire Escape Recording, Toronto, ON. Production of a 12 song release is currently underway.
Isobelle Gunn's vision is to create authentic, evocative music that explores pain and joy in the human experience. Their three differently textured vocals complement each other to create a smooth, smoky resonance. The band's ability to sing with vulnerable, passionate harmonies, allow for songs that are intimate and epic, achieving a provocative and perceptive blend.
At the heart of Isobelle Gunn is a commitment to beauty and the promise of a relentless pursuit of musical excellence.
As a testimony to this pursuit, the following musicians have added their talent to the bands initiative:
Bill Dillon - electric/acoustic guitars - (Sarah McLachlan, Joni Mitchell, Counting Crows, Peter Gabriel)
Gary Craig - drums/percussion - (Bruce Cockburn, Jan Arden, Anne Murray)
Fergus Marsh - bass - (Bruce Cockburn)
Corey Lacey - acoustic guitars - (The Penny Merchants)
Lisa MacIsaac - violin - (Mad Violet)
Douglas Romanow - keyboards/piano/organs
These efforts have accomplished a well-rounded acoustic/roots/pop feel, that fans of Feist, Counting Crows, Ben Folds, Ben Harper, Indigo Girls, Sarah McLachlan, Sarah Harmer, Neko Case and Hothouse Flowers appreciate
