This is Horselover (HRS LVR): an avant-garde hardcore-punk band from Toronto Ontario. They are not named Hours Lever, or Hearse Liver, or any other common phonetic misinterpretation of said name. Fashioned through happenstance and a collective desire to create a copious amount of noise, Horselover is the collaborative effort of four sub-humans with a flare for auditory antagonism. Horselover is conceptualized and realized by Artie W (guitar) and Scott S (drums), along with Matt A (bassist) and Theo Kap (vocalist) all of whom attribute their union to causal determinism and the merging of the Multiverse.
The Tease, Horselover’s debut 2 song ep, is a prologue to the band’s collection of songs—all of which are eerily atmospheric, perpetually playful, and sonically abrasive. Horselover’s music attempts to break punk / hardcore conventions while alluding to the genre in an almost satirical manner. Drawing influence from the music scenes of Providence Rhode Island and San Diego—and the equestrian arts—Horselover seeks to create music as a companion piece to a live performance that is as engaging as it is confusing.
