biographical info

For over seven years, Ottawa rockers HELLBROS have had one goal in mind; taking their music and their live show to the next level.

With the release of their hard-hitting debut album, Goodtime Machine, the guys in HELLBROS have managed to do just that, successfully capturing the raw energy and attitude of their live performances in ten badass, catchy tunes.

“We’re bringing back good, old-fashioned, straight-up rock with a modern, heavy edge,” says front man Peter Jurt. “It’s music to drink and shake your ass to.”

Formed in 2004, this high-energy quartet also includes Jurt’s brother Christian (guitar) and long-time friends Curtis Delaney (bass) and Josh Roy (drums).

This past summer, HELLBROS hit the road in support of their debut album, launching the ambitious ‘Wet Hot Canadian Summer’ tour, which included stops in more than 20 cities across the countryand a gig at the famed NXNE Music Festival in Toronto.

“This was a really exciting year for us,” admits drummer Josh Roy. “We got our van stolen in P.E.I., rocked Sable beach with Cancer Bats, camped in the Rockies, surfed in Tofino and made it all the way back to Toronto to destroy the legendary Bovine Sex Club.”

HELLBROS also won $5,000 in the Big Money Shot, an annual band competition hosted by an Ottawa radio station LiVE 88.5 FM.

And, they don’t intend on slowing down anytime soon. The band is already working on new material and planning to tour Canada and the United States extensively in 2012.They'll also be performing at Canada's largest music festival, Canadian Music Fest.

“The next year will look a lot like this past year, only on steroids,” boasts Roy.
