biographical info
The name Hennessey comes from a character in a Canadian novel by Ernest Buckler called The Mountain and the Valley. Herb Hennessey appears briefly, but signifies life outside the ordinary. He is the ultimate escape from the drudgery and frustration in life. Their unique name could also be used to describe the Canadian group’s music.
Their debut album, Dig It Up, won accolades from such diverse quarters as Hockey Night In Canada’s Ron MacLean and author Daniel Richler. Word of mouth soon spread and Hennessey built up a loyal fan base with their energetic live shows.
New album Life On AM Radio is considered by the band to be "firmly anchored in the realm of pop music." It was recorded with producer Pete Prilesnik (Big Sugar/Sarah Harmer). Arnold Lanni (Our Lady Peace) mixed the title track, and Don C. Tyler (Elliot Smith/New Radicals) mastered the album.
