HELCION
(Hell-See-On)
After 4 years, 3 albums, several awards, 150+ shows, an Artavox Bass endorsement, a Hevy D Music digital distribution deal, and a successful 2008 cross Canada summer tour - HELCION is right where they want to be! Having gained many new fans and the respect and admiration from promoters, booking agents and fellow musicians across the country, HELCION has the confidence to take their sound Anywhere, Anytime and Any Place!
There is a lot of momentum right now, and HELCION is ready for the ride! After 8weeks on the road this past summer - from Vancouver Island to Montreal, the focus shifted to releasing the new album ~ The Trivial Pursuit of Happiness ~ followed by a String of CD Release parties throughout BC and Alberta - HELCION has one focus, to be remembered and have the fans coming back for more!
Since their beginnings in late 2004, HELCION has consistently strove to raise their own personal bar - be it song crafting, live performance, or just the professionalism with which this band carries itself in all aspects of the business. Having developed a sound that has been widely accepted by the general public, but a little too "Niche" for mainstream radio, it has forced them to take a more D.I.Y. approach to exposing their music. HELCION's sound draws from many genre's but does not dwell long enough in any of them to fit into a particular style or label. Having shared the stage with Alternative, Rock, Metal, Hard-core, Ska, Emo, Punk, Rockabilly, Folk, Black Metal, Pop, - it has allowed the band to draw fans from everywhere, and gave them the confidence to be comfortable in their own skin. This is Heavy music that is filled with Soul and Melody. Female harmonies are not common in heavy music and these girls have a knack for capturing and captivating an audience.
HELCION has been lucky enough to share the stage with some of Canada's biggest "Next big thing" bands from a wide spectrum of music. Ten Second Epic, The Turn, Divinity, Southern Death Threat, Flatlined, Mojave, Georgian Skull, Summerside, Brane, Three Star Seed, Silvercade, Something Worth Saving, Wormbox. "It is fantastic that we have a sound that can fit comfortably with so many different styles and genres - I don't think too many bands are afforded that luxury."
HELCION has been honored with several awards
- Best Metal artist or group 2007(Okanagan music award)
- Jammie (Korg Canada award for the song "Wants and Needs")
- 20+ awards for the song "The Sun Sets For No One" (Garageband.com)
- Artavox Bass endorsement
- Nominations for "Best production" & "Best engineer" for HELCION II
Onward and upward is the only direction for HELCION to go and they have the right ingredients to get them there. A strong work ethic, a love of performing, and a deep unending passion for music will keep them driven and on the forefront of being "the band to watch"! Stay Tuned......
