biographical info
French and Canadian electronic musician Groj (Kevin Jamey) is an emerging talent on the international indie electronic music.
Played already by DJ giants such as Sasha and James Holden, Groj has also been charted twice by Max Cooper, including #1 for his remix of “Mode B – Antwerpen”, which granted him a remix of Mr. Cooperʼs “Echoes Reality” from his latest EP on Traum, and the support of John Digweed, Stephan Bodzin, Umek, Steve Lawler, Mauro Picotto, and Dave Seaman. Groj also participated at the renowned Mutek festival last summer during the Modeselektion night featuring Modeselektor and Siriusmo. The cutting edge festival also featured the very first Amon Tobin live and the likes of Plastikman, Four Tet, James Holden and Luke Abbott.
In search of more autonomy, Groj launched his own label Box Records with none other than his debut album “Promised Land” as a first release. A swerve to the left of his past dance-floor oriented compositions - this collection of tracks explores relationships between emotional cycles, electronic music and analogue sounds with more attention given to experimentation. It has garned encouraging response by Max Cooper (Traum), Ricardo Tobar (Border Community), Avus (Border Community) and Applescal (Traum)
