To record our first album, Grandfather Fire and the holy morning
left the choking confines of Boomtown, Alberta for the brisk
mountain air of the Kootenays in the heart of British Columbia.
Recording took place over the course of 5 days in a remote cabin.
The sound of passing trains and the groan of floorboards were
welcome additions to the open feel our self-titled and self released
debut.

In an age of programmed drum robots, auto tuned voices and hyped up dance
jinglism, main singer and guitarist B T Fraser's honest approach captures
the sound of a rock band playing in a cabin in the woods.

We write instinctually, to the song - forging a sound that is both
inviting and alienating. We are not trying to sound like anyone else,
though you will find some welcoming similarities to the brooding
ambience of the Black Heart Procession, the simple sing along melodies
of damien Jurado, or the dense intensity of the Shipping News.

The record was mastered by Ryan Mills (Born Ruffians, the inflation Kills)
at Sleepy Town Sound. He polished up the recording w/out
glossing over the gritty parts.
