Who are the Gideons?
A common question that is asked on first encounter. First we must attack the physical appearance, shaggy young men, clad in leather jackets, turtlenecks, silk scarves, and wonderful footwear.
Next we must perk our ears. Hooks and harmonies sung by seraphim's one minute, fiery fuzz guitar and the shrieks of demons in the 7th circle of hell the next.
A peacock on fire.
A wedding dress covered in dry blood.
A field of dandelions growing on top of unmarked graves.
Shattered stained glass.
Named by The Coast as one of 2008's Best New Bands in Halifax, they are not to be missed live, working crowds into riots, a Dionysian frenzy. Their new record Hymns for Hers is somewhere between T.S. Eliot and Muhammad Ali. The Gideons bring the song craft of rock and roll's illustrious past and smash it violently against the present.
The Gideons are the future of rock and roll.
