Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924) was an Italian composer whose operas - including La Bohème, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, and Turandot - are among the most frequently performed to this day.
Many of his arias, such as "O mio babbino caro", "Che gelida manina", and "Nessun dorma" have become mainstays of popular culture.
He is also sseen as one of the last Italian opera composers.
