artist Goodnight Streetlight

Goodnight Streetlight started in 1999 as a low-fi cut&paste assortment of odd noises, voices, and percussion.The early material came together as 'Mr. Tinkerton's Toy Repair Shop.' CDRs and hand-made covers were made and given to friends and strangers. Enthusiam for that gave me confidence to make 'Post-Meltdown Friend' (2001) a more "song-oriented" album. It featured, among other things, a toy casio keyboard, muddled guitar loops and spoken/singing voices that were sent by friends on the internet. (xoxo anna, amie, helen, teri.). Some time later a couple of independant labels asked me to send them music to be part of a series of monthly EP releases. I created "The Great Invention of the Wheel"(2003) for Piehead Records (now defunct) and "Arithmetic with Tigers" (2004) for Duotone Records in Japan. The songs were mostly instrumental sampler-based arrangement with occasional found sounds. Over the last two years i've been working hard on a lot of new music for a full length that aims to be the uh, definitive album for goodnight streetlight. It draws on some of my earlier expermentations with found-sounds, spoken voices, and guitar loops, but in much more full and intricate arrangements. Its tentatively titled "The Curfew Bell" and my friend Aaron Clarke is working hard and maticulously on mastering it and fixing up all my errors. iIts going to be very good and i'm going to try and give it more light and stomping ground than the other releases.
