biographical info
John Burton was born in BC in 1971, and was first introduced to "Electronic Music" by his unkle with a copy of Tomita's Greatest Hits. Jean Michele Jarre's "Oxygene" and Tomita's "Ki" impressed upon the young Burton that machines could be used to create music.
More recently, the ambient and illbient sounds of Coldcut, DJ Shadow, DJ Radar, and others from the Om and Ninjatune labels have been the drive to keep finding new audio tools (and new ways to use them).
All of Gecko Temple's songs have been created almost entirely in "The Digital Bubble" with no more hardware than the average person couldn't get ahold of with a few hundred dollars.
Gecko Temple does not currently perform live, but has been known to "spring" a track on an unsuspecting houseparty or wedding.
We hope you enjoy Gecko Temple's music as much as everyone else seems to.
Thank you, and have a nice yay.
