biographical info
The Free Whiskey String Band is a slam bangin folk trio from Toronto. Born as a house band in Kingston at the Mansion's Old Time Wednesdays, they learned from the best in the business, sharing the nights with Sheesham and Lotus. Since 2009, they've taken their talents far beyond the comforting limestone hills of Kingston, having since appeared at Toronto's Drake Hotel, Tranzac, Rivoli, Silver Dollar, Festival of Beer, as well as countless other events across Ontario. In the summer of 2010, they made their first out of province appearance at the 2010 Montreal Folk Festival, and are looking to play a great many more in summer of 2010. Always firing out barnburning instrumentals, killer three part harmonies, and more fun and clever original tunes than you can shake a stick at, the Free Whiskey String Band make for an unforgettable listening experience. You can catch them at upcoming performances at the Holstein Bluegrass Festival, Quinte Islands Bluegrass Festival, as well as shows in Montreal, Picton, and hopefully soon at a place near you.
