biographical info
Fox Jaws is a rock and roll band. Difficult to tie
down to one subgenre or sonic style, they are a product of many musical
influences and the great urban-precambrian shield of Canada. Fox Jaws
has been alive since 2003, when the band was formed by guitarist singer
Daniel Allen and drummer Brandyn Aikins in a basement in
Barrie, Ontario. Various other band members have revolved through the doors over the
years, and now the permanent line-up includes Allen, Aikins, singer
Carleigh Aikins, guitarist Andrew Shropshire, and bassist Lincoln
Hamlyn. Unafraid of lashing out with loud fury and whispering a
mellow folk tune, Fox Jaws thrives on playing together with their hearts
on the outside, offering deep sentiments on modern life and the trials
and tribulations that enrapture the young Canadian existence.
Garnering
many great accolades over the length of their 2-EP & 2-LP career,
Fox Jaws remains humble, living and working in the presence of their
talented Nevado Records labelmates Bahamas, Bass Lions, Leif Vollebekk,
The Paint Movement, and Yukon Blonde. A grand family with a world of
potential.
Exclaim Magazine offered up this flattering
statement: "Fox Jaws are real people ... But what they create is on the
verge of brilliance, what they live are lives worth documentation, when
they die it sounds amazing, when they breathe it brings the audience to
life."
