biographical info
Folding Colour is the rock-pop monster organ brain child of Dave and Jill. This innovative duo plays not two but three instruments between the two of them. Dave is choreographed to perfection on the organ bass pedal while switching between playing electric guitar and banjo. And while being classically trained, Jill plays the drums with an orchestral spirit and an electro-beat heart.
The intentions of Dave and Jill were not to create a band, but to simply stomp out some beats and sing with their hearts. However, all of this changed when Jill left to the mountains of Costa Rica in November 2009. During her absence Dave constructed the bass pedal from an old organ. Upon her return Jill instantly fell in love with the organ bass pedal and knew a band needed to be made in order to show off the electronic engineering skills of Dave. After some practices, good wine and many baguettes later, Folding Colour emerged on the scene in January 2010.
They played to well received audiences in St. Catharine’s and Hamilton, and have been invited back to play more. The duo’s songs cover a range of styles including folk pop, such as their song ‘Strange Words`, to sexy dance beats like the tune `You don’t love me`. Their debut 5 track EP entitled Green Tree was released March 2010 and is a collection of songs that are full of raw style and new sounds.
