biographical info
Pieced together from the discarded leftovers of Ottawa bands such as moral hazard, Harshey, Russell's Big Day, the Weapons of Mass Seduction and the Goddamn, four-stroke has been subjecting the citizens of Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, North Bay, and points in between to their unique blend of punk styles since the summer of 2003.
four-stroke have shared the stage with a number of well known punk acts including Vancouver's legendary DOA, Bunchofuckingoofs, the G-Men, the Black Halos, Maximum RNR, Random Killing, Zeke, the Black Halos and the Subhumans (Canada).
four-stroke has generated attention due to their brutal sonic assault, their energetic live show and controversial lyrics in songs such as "(I wanna be a ) suburban jihadi", "Is that the hand you hit her with", "Fuck Ottawa" and "Ecumenical Anticlerical".
four-stroke released a demo CDR in 2005 entitled "...try to imagine how much i care..." on their own Pesticide Records label, which received airplay on campus/community stations in Canada. Tracks from this recording were selected for a regional compilation as well as "Canucks Punk Rock", featuring well known acts such as the Dayglo Abortions, BFG, DOA, and the Ripcorz.
In 2006 four-stroke signed with Vancouver-based Crusty Records. "I was a Teenage Suicide Bomber!!!" was released December 30, 2006. Tracks from this CD have already been selected for international compilations, and for airplay both on Campus/Community radio and Commercial radio.
