biographical info

FIMO appeared from the fingers and toes of twins Billy and Jake Nicoll in their last year of high school.  Having had little experience with live shows they kept to themselves and in their shag-carpeted attic bedroom recorded their first album secretly.  But the songs didn’t stop coming and before the first album was finished plans for a second and far superior album were made.
After the summer break FIMO laid their first album to rest and began their second album with more recording and songwriting experience and plans to follow through and produce the album.  They began to play shows around the Guelph and Waterloo area, slowly getting over their shyness and eventually finding themselves enjoying the exhilaration of playing in public.  Their live show is memorable, with the two twins playing a wide variety of instruments such as cello, piano, drums and dobro, and playing as many as they can at once.
By the end of April they had 16 new tracks ranging from melodic banjo folk to bizarre and eerie piano compositions.  With great diligence they produced the CD from scratch, designing the CD case and art and cutting and gluing the pieces together by themselves.  The album was released late June at a rowdy house show filled with enthusiastic fans and has been received quite well by the local music community.
