biographical info
F.B.I. (Fuckin' Baddass Indians) is a
hip hop collective spanning and traveling the breadth of great Turtle Island
(AKA North America) performing at shows, facilitating community workshops, and
cultivating the ambition of Indigenous people.
F.B.I. aims to unite Indigenous people through music, and this is
illustrated through their logo (i.e. the chain symbolizing infinite nations
connected).
The F.B.I crew has been paying dues
since the early 90's and has released numerous mix tapes and many original recordings. F.B.I. incorporates creativity and
originality back into hip hop. They
work hard to produce music that transcends hip hop genres and makes
correlations between social awareness, social discrepancies, and Indigenous
worldviews. F.B.I. has been working hard to break-down stereotypes of
Indigenous people in hip hop, and has produced a track titled A Native Thing
Called Hip Hop that addresses the challenges for Indigenous people in hip
hop.
F.B.I. also uses communications
mediums like radio and newspapers, as well as undertaking business/economic
development initiatives, to cultivate their infrastructure and get their
message out to the people.
F.B.I. is a group for all people. The F.B.I. collective recognizes the need to
work with all peoples on Turtle Island, and welcomes the support and
participation from sisters and brothers of all walks of life.
