Eric Corne is a Canadian singer-songwriter, producer and engineer
currently based in Los Angeles. In late 2008 he released his first solo
record, "Kid Dynamite & The Common Man" , featuring a who's who of
L.A. rock and roots royalty, including: Richie Hayward (Little Feat),
Greg Leisz (Wilco), Doug Pettibone (Lucinda Williams), Brian MacLeod
(Sheryl Crow), Santa Davis (Peter Tosh), Skip Edwards (Dwight Yoakam),
Stephen Hodges (Tom Waits), Freddy Koella (Bob Dylan), Dave Raven (Mike
Ness), Johnny Bazz (the Blasters), Carl Byron (Anne McCue), Sasha Smith
(Devendra Banhart), Danny Frankel (k.d. lang), Eamon Ryland (Happy
Mondays), Dusty Wakeman (Jim Lauderdale) and Nick Urata of Denver's
DeVotchKa.
Corne formed the Toronto space pop group Mysterio in the late 90s. The band released "Agent 000", an album of "catchy, dynamic studio pop." (Exclaim! Magazine) on Bobby Dazzler Records in 2003.
Since 2004, Corne has worked primarily out of Dusty Wakeman’s Mad Dog Studios where he has emerged as the latest in a long line of talented and well-respected recording engineers: Tchad Blake (Los Lobos, Crowded House, Peter Gabriel), Seth Horan (Draco Rosa), James Tanksley (Raphael Sadiiq) and John DeBaun (The Mars Volta).
Corne's diverse list of recording credits includes: Lucinda Williams, Michelle Shocked, Walter Trout (Canned Heat, John Lee Hooker), John Mayall, Glen Campbell, Airto Moreira (Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell), DeVotchKa, PF Sloan, Anne McCue, Nancy Wilson (Heart), Louie Bellson (Duke Ellington), Marvin Etzioni (Lone Justice), John Doe (X, The Knitters), Trevor Menear, Jude Johnstone, Humdinger, Tsar, Taiwanese sensation Joanna Wang and Ghanaian reggae/afro-beat artist, Rocky Dawuni with who Corne recorded and mixed a track for the Instant Karma charity project for Darfur.
