Elsa Sainas has been playing guitar since the age of five when she received a Fender Mini-Strat for her birthday. This was the beginning of her life-long musical passion. Her musical influences are Sick of Sarah, Paramore, Tegan & Sara, City & Colour, U2 and early Avril.  Elsa has performed her original tunes at many venues over the past couple of years including the Heritage Woods Theatre, Terry Fox Theatre, Spirit Square, Golden Spike Days Festival and more. She is currently in grade eleven at Terry Fox Secondary School where she is enrolled in the Rock School and Recording Arts Program.

In March 2009, Elsa was joined by several of her rock school classmates to form a super-band that performed for The MusiCounts/Juno Awards Official Kick-Off Celebration at Terry Fox Secondary. This event was attended by CARAS/MusiCounts Executives, as well as Juno Nominees, The Trews, who also performed at this special event. She has also won 2nd place for Spirit of B.C Songwriting Competition 2010, Top Ten for Project Garage 2010 -“Enter The Vibe” and Top Ten CBC OTC Best High School Rock Band 2009/2010. Elsa is busy in the Terry Fox "Raven Sound Studio" recording new songs & collaborating with other peers frequently.

Elsa is excited to enter CBC Radio's OTC contest for the second time where she will get the opportunity to enjoy the great experience all over again, share her new songs with other musical teens and gain valuable performance/recording experience.
