Release: Life Songs 8 Songs
It was in London, Ont. that I became exposed to the music of Billie Hughes of Lazurus fame. I think they had one hit. He sadly passed away in 1998. It was here in London too that I probably wrote the first of one of my "real" songs. Bill Seddon the recording engineer for Bruce Cockburn remarked it was a really good tune. The song was "Wheres your Love Tonight" a ballad.
In 1986 I went into the studios in Edmonton and recorded "Once in a while" with Mel Gargus a tech with the CBC and "Poor Boy" with Gary Macdonald at Damon Sound Trek Studios. Poor Boy was released and was a small hit with some two steppin country clubs. This was around 1988. It was in Red Deer at Milestone Studios that I recorded "Rock and Run" and "Startin to Want You" which featured Wayne Holt on some guitar parts.
Finally I met up with a talented keyboardist and arranger named Nick Partridge. Nick hailed from England way and was a seasoned veteran of the live and music scene. I wrote and recorded the tunes "These Blues", "Lookin for Love" and "A Lotta Love." This was around 2002. The final tune of the CD is sort of a self recorded thing I did in my own studio to mark Albertas 2005th cenntenial. Its been well received in Germany of all places.
I hope you enjoy this "The Best of Ed Jonas" CD because its been 20 some years in the making
