the first economics cd can now be purchased online.  simply go to economicsmusic.com/music and follow the links.

those of you in saskatoon can also visit the vinyl diner on broadway or the vinyl exchange downtown to find a copy.  or just send me a message and i'll get you a copy somehow.

the album is finally done. i was starting to feel a bit like axl rose for a moment.

it has 12 tracks split into 4 parts. i think it turned out pretty well, and i'm excited to see what people think about it.

for those in the saskatoon area, stay tuned for an upcoming cd release show, as well as more shows down the line. if things go well, hopefully we can make it out to regina, calgary, edmonton, and perhaps beyond.

for anyone who wants a copy, there are a few ways you will be able to get one:

- if you're in saskatoon, you will be able to buy it at the vinyl diner or the vinyl exchange, or send me a message and i'll give you a copy personally. - if you're not in saskatoon, email me your address and you will get one in the mail eventually

i have posted a song called "Eugene's Theme". It was recorded for a short film about a mistreated and misunderstood bicycle called "Eugene" by Andrei Feheregyhazi, which made its world premiere last night here in saskatoon.  in due time, the film will hopefully be posted as a video on my page.

the song is quite a bit different than anything i've ever done before - that's the great thing about making music for film - it forces you out of your comfort zone a little bit.

We live in wonderful times. A couple of spoiled brats living in the middle of nowhere - paralyzed by snow in the winter, scorched by dry heat in the summer - can record songs in their basement bedrooms. The quality is somewhat reasonable, the cost is relatively low, and it is available to virtually anyone with an internet connection. We should be excited; we should be counting our blessings; we should be happy to be living in this place and time; we should be,  but...

There are apparently over 2 million artists with myspace pages, and countless others with webpages similar to this one, complete with smart looking band photos and bios brimming with self-admiration and confidence .  We are small fish swimming in a giant sea among the sharks and the whales and the millions of other fish, fighting to get noticed, to be heard, and to be recognized.

We're not sure why we bother. We don't really need any more money (artists don't really make money anyways). We don't really want to be famous (we don't think anyone would want us to be famous either - we're boring and much too shy). We don't really deserve any praise or recognition (our list of influences is essentially all of the artists we rip off and/or try to sound like). We don't, but...

The idea that someone we have never met is listening to our songs - and possibly even enjoying them - excites us to no end. And we can't wait to hear what kinds of sounds our souls will pour out next.
