biographical info
Since its birth in the spring of 2000, Echo Kitty electrifies the audiences with electropop capsules blending eclectic shades of Glam, Rockabilly and New-Wave. Entirely based in Montreal since 2002, the band now combines original singer Xavier Paradis, Serge Mustang (guitar) and Jef Hell (synthesizer, bass).
During the last two years, Echo Kitty performed live several times in the Montreal area, sharing the stage with artists and bands such as Reuben Wu (Ladytron DJ set during the MEG festival), Vancouver’s The Organ and Montreal’s exceptional World Provider. They also made remarkable appearances in Quebec City and Toronto. Their approach to playing live is definitely performance-oriented, veering far away from static “laptop-isms” in favor of what could be roughly described as a three-piece band giving an electro-injected rock & roll show.
Echo Kitty also recently released a new track on “KINK!”, a compilation produced by the very famous DJ Frigid. Available in stores on June 22nd, the CD is distributed by Fusion III and provides a musical taste of the extravagance characterizing DJ Frigid’s nights, a landmark of Montreal’s nightlife since 2002.
The new album "Savon chanté" is now available.
