biographical info
Dave Reachill is a British/Australian/Canadian singer-songwriter.
Born in Cambridge, England to his Scandinavian/Scottish father and
Philippine mother, Reachill has spent the majority of his life on the
road. Reachill’s second release, aptly named, ‘These Random Places’ is a
reflection of a life between cities, having lived in Cambridge England,
Adelaide Australia and now Toronto Canada. With his warm, intricate,
indie-rock sensibilities and his penchant for poetry, Reachill paints
words into pictures and distant places into melodies.
"Growing up I was never really into sports, fancy cars or trends of the
moment. I would just write all the time. I would think of words like
colors and blend them into songs like paintings..."
To produce ‘These Random Places’, Reachill teamed up with Canadian
producer and Jacksoul guitarist, Justin Abedin in Toronto, and Grammy
nominated mixing engineer John O’Mahony in New York City who’s work has
graced Coldplay’s Viva La Vida, Metric’s Fantasies,
Depeche Mode’s Live At World Cafe and Kaiser Chiefs Off
With Their Heads. The recording features guests from the likes of
Bryden Baird (Leslie Feist, Sean Lennon), Ron Lopata (Ron Sexsmith),
Kevin Fox (Dolores O’Riordan, Kathleen Edwards) Justin Abedin (Nelly
Furtado, Serena Ryder, Jacksoul), Davide DiRenzo (Alanis
Morisette, Jacksoul,Tom Cochrane) and Kathryn Rose
(Sarah McLachlan).
‘These Random Places’ is the perfect
embodiment of Reachill’s unique British, Canadian and Australian hybrid
sound.
