DEEP BLUE SEA is Angelika & Jacob, who have been working together since 1998. Angelika lives and works in Vancouver, while Jacob (aka DJ Stonie) resides in Oakland, California. The duo schedules their music-making time around holidays when they can arrange to be in the same city.
Their music experiments with a wide range of sounds and styles. The one common element is the ethereal voice of Angelika, and a major influence in their work is the dance music that brought them together.
Between collaborative projects, Jacob continues to work on solo recordings and is an established dj in the Bay Area. Meanwhile, in Vancouver, Angelika sings and writes music with her vocal ensemble, Moonblue.
Since day-job commitments and that pesky Canada-US border make it difficult to work together as often as they wish, Angelika & Jacob are currently seeking a wealthy eccentric benefactor to finance the costs of production and international travel. All applicants will be considered!
