artist David Kristian

David Kristian has been making music for over two decades. His output ranges from drones and sonic microscopy to full out rhythmic mayhem. David got his start as an amateur film and video maker in the early 1980s. Frustrated with the lack of appropriate music to use in his productions, he began making custom soundtracks and sound effects to accompany his science fiction and horror short films. Though motivated by necessity, his new-found talent has lead to thousands of recorded compositions ranging from experimental to pop, and of course, serious soundtrack and sound design work for film and television. In addition to the hundreds of original works he has released on various labels around the world, David also provides sounds and music for films, including Karim Hussain's "The City without Windows" (La Dernière Voix) and "Ascension"; Mitch Davis’ “Divided Into Zero” , and Douglas Buck’s “Prologue”. David has performed at various events and Festivals including ISEA 1995, Mutek, Volt AA, the FCMM, and Le Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville. *UPDATE* David's current career as a Film, TV and Flash Animation composer is taking up so much of his time that he has decided to move away from the record industry. By the end of summer 2005, he will no longer be releasing any new material (with the exception of soundtracks).
