biographical info

Crash the Car is the project of songwriter Kyle Cashen, performing alone or sometimes with a band; Crash the Car presents delicate, ethereal alt-folk style indie rock with electronic elements.

Born out of an introspective and exploratory style, Kyle has crafted Crash the Car using immaculate soundscapes, sweet melodies and vision-inspiring lyrics. Preferring to write in solitude then collaborate and reshape, the music is unique and engrossing, and captures the ear of music appreciators and musicians alike.

Crash the Car's first full length album, They Built Houses Here, was released independently on November 20, 2008. It was produced by Walter Bloodway, recorded and mixed by multi-instrumentalist Jordy Walker (Christine Fellows, Kepler, Kim Barlow), and mastered by Graemme Brown (Zen Mastering).

On the album:
Kyle Cashen: vocals, electric and acoustic guitars, percussion, percussion manipulation
Walter Bloodway: keyboards, circuit bent keyboards, percussion loops, vocal manipulation, lap steel manipulation, electronics, tenori-on
Jordy Walker: drums, percussion, acoustic guitars, baritone guitars, electric guitars, lap steel, vocals, vibraphone, piano, keyboards, wind organ, bass
Micah Smith: bass
Fiona Solon: vocals
Ken Hermanson: lap steel
