BIOGRAPHY
Commandeers are a young 4-piece band from Toronto, that remind us what rock music is all about in the first place. Inspired by the grit and glam of rock, Commandeers take from Bowie, Iggy and the New York Dolls to the White Stripes and Queens of the Stone Age to create a sound that is all their own.
For a young band, Commandeers have already spent a majority of their lives together. The band consists of singer/guitar Nathan Jesionka, his older brother Ezra on guitar with their best friends, Scott Hannigan on bass and Cale Elliott-Armstrong on drums. Meeting in high school in downtown Toronto, they had played together for years before forming Commandeers in the summer of 2008 and since then they have been a rock’n’roll expose-all biography waiting to happen. These guys were bred to save rock’n’roll and that’s made clear when seen live because Commandeers’ performance on stage is as tight as their relationship off.
Always showing you he means it, Nathan is the archetypal front man, captivating audiences, while backed by a band that can hold it down. Commandeers are the perfect combination of talent, drive, alcohol and revelry. Get ready for a sonic assault reminiscent of that real, raw energy that made legends out of the likes of the Ramones and The New York Dolls.
