biographical info

Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, Clockmakers take the Canadian pop of bands such as The Stills and Tokyo Police Club, add the toe-tapping appeal of synth-heavy bands like Passion Pit and Mew, and stir in the ambience of British groups such as Radiohead and Doves.  As was noted by one reviewer at music website Ronatron.net, Clockmakers "have the potential to be the next indie-darlings of the Vancouver music scene."

Following up on their 2010 self-titled 4-song EP, Clockmakers are set to release a brand new  EP in Spring 2011. The buzz surrounding this recording is apparent, and the band is more than excited to get their new music into the hands of fans and industry alike.  Says guitarist Cole MacKinnon: “Melodies are the priority, whether it's a guitar, vocal, or, keyboard line.”

From moments of twinkling beauty to stirring vocals to washes of sound, Clockmakers are as as comfortable playing local bars and medium sized clubs as they would be playing larger venues, in other cities, for thousands of people. They know what they are capable of becoming. As put by a reviewer at popyoularity.com: "If the purpose of music is to evoke a wide range of emotional, spiritual and physical reactions, then that is what this young band has going for it.”
