biographical info

China Syndrome is a rockin' melodic power pop band from Vancouver, who combine the driving pop hooks of The New Pornographers and Guided By Voices with liberal dollops of old favourites such as XTC and the Replacements. They released their second CD in 2011, Nothing's Not Worth Knowing, which, like their first, was recorded and produced at Vancouver's JC/DC Studio by David Carswell (The New Pornographers, Destroyer, Tegan & Sara, Apollo Ghosts, among others). The album has garnered positive reviews, with Tom Harrison of The Province stating it "exudes confidence," !earshot-online.com saying it's "lots of fun to listen to over and over again" and venerable indie rock magazine The Big Takeover calling it "absolutely solid, songwriter-intensive slab of catchy, muscular Vancouver power pop." Go to chinasyndromeband.com for more information.
