biographical info
Catriona (spelled like an Irish name, pronounced like a hurricane) Sturton’s songs are shaped by Halifax classic pop, Japanese punk rock, and New Orleans Rhythm and Blues. No matter how tough she imagines herself to be, her songs seem to come out on the sweet side. A multi-instrumentalist, she has studied from master teachers of harmonica, shamisen (Japan) and ngoni (Mali) and worked with songwriters Al Tuck and Joel Plaskett.
