biographical info
Viewing the contemporary music scene from a unique vantage point, Under the Parade
beats a new rhythm into indie-pop. Led by singer/songwriter Cassie MacDonald, this
dynamic parade infuses poetic lyrics with jazz, folk, and rock influences.
Cassie brought her stories and songs first to the stages of the independent music
scene in Toronto, Ontario-- a three year journey book ended by a debut performance
at an open mic on Queen Street West and a farewell Toronto performance with a showcase
at Canadian Music Week. Three years of songs about longing and wandering, sounded
out the message that Cassie desired to feel her roots on her feet again and step
into the next phase of her musical career, the band.
Enter Stacy Wise, scientist and folk singer. Paul McIntosh, classically trained pianist.
Katie Patterson, drummer prodigy. Reese Nearing, beautifully melodic bassist. Now
with five sets of ears to the ground of the Halifax music scene, this parade is marching
to the offbeat of its drum.
