Pop/rock twin sister duo, Carmen and Camille have been compounding success since the release of their debut album Two. With major press from Billboard, Stuff Mag, Elle, and several songs from their first album featured on MTV's The Hills, as well as their recent Juno Nomination for Shine 4U the girls are rocketing to star status.
The pop/rock duo’s latest single, Shine 4U, recently won the Chum
Emerging Artist Initiative which has resulted in national radio
rotation straight across Canada, recently breaking the Top 40 Hot AC
charts. Shine 4U was initially released simultaneously with a remix
contest on the world’s largest remix site, Indaba Music, and gathered
more early submissions than similar contests from major artists such as
John Legend and Mariah Carey and resulted in hundreds of submissions
from around the globe.
As sisters, Carmen and Camille’s career began as kids with their own
‘rec-room band’ which has mushroomed into such key performances as
MTV’s Total Request Live. The girls were reared on Pink Floyd, Hendrix,
Joplin, Zeppelin and since then their love of all music developed
influences as varied as Sheryl Crow, No Doubt, Depeche Mode and
Fleetwood Mac.
Carmen and Camille have performed in cities all over the world
including London, Glasgow, Manchester, Vancouver, Toronto, Cairo,
Boston, Budapest, New York, Dubai, Austin, Crete, Los Angeles, and
more. The girls have also showcased for MTV (USA) as well performed live on MTV’s TRL,
YTV’s The Zone and The Maury Show. Their first single Lose My Voice won
virtual MTV’s Battle of the Bands contest by a landslide of fan votes.
In early 2009, the girls were invited to record on the John Lennon
Educational Tour Bus where they recorded a cover of Led Zeppelin’s
Battle of Evermore.
There are literally thousands of great comments on their widely
popular YouTube channel which point towards the girls’ exponentially
increasing and enthusiastic fanbase. With fans of all ages from all
over the world, it’s hard to find a new act with more momentum.
C&C split their time between Vancouver and LA, are currently working on new songs and touring in support of Shine 4U.
“The duo writes their own music and lyrics, with the end result
being great indie pop/rock jams, the perfect music for a sunny summer
day, or at least a day when one might want to conjure up the spirit of
summer.” — Canadian Musician Magazine
