The New Release from High Pocket Records
The
Ride is an auditory journey through a rich emotional landscape where
the characters wear their hearts on their sleeves as they go through
life's ups and downs. It is a meticulously sequenced record that starts
with a rush with the upbeat metaphorical catastrophe of "Hurricane."
Then by the 5th track it plunges into the depths of despair with the
classically influenced "Safe." From there the record continues to
explore the ups and downs of the human condition until the final title
track "The Ride" rolls in like a roller coaster finishing its run - a
reflective song about the journey of life. The stories are narrated by
Cameron's rough distinctive voice and supported by his driven piano
playing. The music reaches exhilarating highs that pro-pulse through
the lows, sometimes achieving ethereal levity while at other times
evoking a stark realism. It's been a long journey to finish this record
but it's well worth the wait. It really is "One Hell of a Ride."
High-quality piano-driven power pop from this multi-talented vocalist/instrumentalist,
formerly of World-Beat band Dobb and Dumela.
