Cosmetics are a duo from Vancouver, BC. Their music is made for dancing, and with feeling and attention to the details. They formed in summer 2008, and in 2009 put together the TUFF TRAX home studio. Using simple rhythm, analog synthesizers and voice, they spend every night very slowly making tracks. It is electronic music played by hand… ice cold with human emotion.
Their debut 7” Soft Skin was released by Brooklyn label Captured Tracks in January 2010. After a spring tour with Blank Dogs they released a second 7” Sleepwalking in summer 2010. More singles and a self-titled debut LP will follow in early 2011.
Recently Cosmetics' songs have been featured on the compilation Rough Trade Shops Synth Wave 10 (Black Leather Gloves) and in the Versus (Versace) spring/summer 2011 runway show in Milan (The Cries).
