biographical info
The first half "Big on Fall" is followed by "Sing! Burquitlam, Sing!" The intent of "Big On Fall" was to quickly document the influx of new material that Nick had written. The result is a sparse and careful affair. The piano-based compositions are augmented by Nick’s hushed vocals, faraway-sounding guitar lines, and incidental noises. "Big on Fall" is essentially a one-man affair, which contrasts greatly with the second section of the record "Sing! Burquitlam, Sing!"At the beginning of July 2002, Nick expanded the B.P repertoire by assuming the role of "songwriter" and leaving vocal duties up to a selection of very talented friends. “Sing! Burquitlam, Sing!" consists of songs far more varied in tone, featuring vocal contributions from Veda Hille, members of Jerk with a Bomb, The Organ, Destroyer and others. Burquitlam Plaza has shared the stage with The Divine Comedy, The Moldy Peaches, and Little Wings. Extensive touring plans are planned for spring 2003.
