biographical info
Bunny Brown grew up between canal locks, donut shops, vineyards and
hockey rinks in the leafy and sleepy peninsula of St.
Catharines/Niagara, Canada. Directly after high school Bunny ran away to
Ottawa where she played keyboards in a glam/punk/synth/rock band around
the capital city and Montreal area. Upon returning to St. Kitts, Bunny
met multi-disciplinary artist Michael D'Amico and became one half of
their quirksome duo Happy As Hell, which Bootsy Collins, Chrissie Hynde
and Sun Ra, among others, chose as a Best Unsigned Band for Musician
Magazine in the US. These days Bunny is in Toronto, Canada and finishing up a
new CD slated for release very soon, to follow her debut CD as a solo
artist in 2004 with Tomorrow The World (Persist Music). During this time
there have been some great reviews, feature articles, magazine covers,
critics' picks bestowed in Toronto's NXNE music festival, a documentary
film role, as well as memorable shows and sessions with other artists including
Mendelson Joe, Ron Sexsmith, Mary Margaret O'Hara, Art Bergmann, Bob Wiseman and many more. Defiant to any easy categorization, Bunny Brown's music is an
intense and intimate, emotionally gripping trip through a unique, disconcerting and beautiful
universe of cinematic surrealist dreampop.
