biographical info
Brock Pytel is a singer songwriter best known for his work behind the drums with Montreal pop-punks the Doughboys circa 1986-89. Once called the "hidden trump card" of that band, Brock's energetic drumset playing, singing, and well constructed tunes helped establish the Doughboys as a national act through two acclaimed Lps and three North American tours.
Brock's debut solo effort, "Second Choice", is a "tasty and eclectic mix of rockers and folksy acoustic ballads"*. His first full length release since 1989 features guest appearances by two other former Doughboys (John Kastner, Jon Asencio) plus veterans of Big Drill Car, SNFU, and Robert Fripp's League of Crafty Guitarists.
Produced by Brock with engineer/producer Lee Preston (Grapes of Wrath), the CD is available now from Brock's own Scamindy Records and from Boss Tuneage in the UK and Japan.
