biographical info
The story behind Bo's music is summarized by one theme: the search for the purest hurtin' music. Born the son of two Newfoundlanders in a small north-eastern Ontario town in the early sixties, Bo Green grew up hearing the songs of great roots and country songwriters and performers -- everyone from Harry Hibbs to Roger Miller, from Hank Williams Sr., and from Neil Young to Stompin' Tom Connors. His wish to try to emulate the great songwriters has taken him through several genres, including post-punk (the Jiks), Folk Rock (Green Achers), and now solo as he tries to find the purest genre for his simple, powerful songs.
