There is a kind of magic and wonder that almost shimmers in the air when two beautiful voices mix and meld together as one. Beckon is a female duo with just such an enchanted pairing. Two individually versatile musicians, Beth Hamilton and Connie Rossitter have combined their talents and their names to form a musical tour-de-force that causes listeners to sit up and take notice. Dreamers with brave and romantic hearts, their fresh acoustic pop sound and graceful style achieve a broad commercial appeal. Rapidly gaining recognition for their captivating original music and stunning trademark harmonies, they are poised to make a big splash in the music scene.

Following on the heels of their highly successful EP “The Summer Sessions” (August 2011) fans are eagerly awaiting Beckon’s first full-length studio album. With Juno nominated producer J. Richard Hutt at the helm, this FACTOR funded album will be released June 1, 2012. This is the same successful pairing that garnered Beckon unsolicited radio play from their EP “The Summer Sessions” on radio stations including Mix106.5, 860 CFOS & CFBU 103.7. The 2012 album release will kick-off a busy summer and fall tour which will see Beckon play over 40 venues across Ontario.

Beckon’s sheer joy of performing is infectious, evidenced by their enthusiastic and devoted following. Trading off between piano and guitar, and seamlessly shifting between lead and harmony, it is at times difficult to distinguish their individual voices in this captivating and seemingly effortless pairing. Beckon has played festivals including Summerfolk, Niagara Wine Festival, Tin Pan North, OTHERfolk and Winterfolk and has already shared the stage with such notables as Don Ross, Ralph Murphy, Mark Mariash, Steve Kennedy, Dean McTaggart, David Woodhead, and Wendell Ferguson. These engaging live performances culminated in a recent Owen Sound Cultural Award Nomination.
