biographical info
Hailing from the wintry depths of Montreal, the members of
Bananafish came together to bring a new sound and live experience to the city’s
diverse music community. Through high energy shows and an eclectic mix of
musical influences, Bananafish has set itself apart in more ways than one.
Fusing elements of funk, jazz, progressive rock, and straight up rock ‘n’ roll,
the band brings all of these components together into a live performance that
doesn’t let up and will keep you on your feet the whole night. Each member phases
in and out between rhythm and lead, taking charge from time to time but never
taking a backseat. It is this sense of equality that brought these six together
in the first place – and it continues to push them to new and often unexpected frontiers.
Bananafish independently released their self-titled EP in the Winter of
2009 and debut LP "Fertile Crescent" in 2010, both of which are
available for purchase at their shows, by mail-order & digital
download (e-mail bananafishmontreal@gmail.com) or in Montreal stores
Cheap Thrills (2044 Metcalfe) and Phonopolis (5403A Ave du Parc).
Fertile Crescent is also for sale on itunes.
